This white paper explores the Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) with Graphwise GraphDB. We use GraphDB to load FIBO, experiment with different reasoning profiles (comparing OWL 2 RL with RDFS), comprehend its structure using the Class Hierarchy diagram, and explore it with the Visual Graph facility. We also demonstrate how GraphDB can be used to combine OWL 2 RL reasoning and property paths to check the structural integrity of FIBO and familiarize ourselves with the structure. Finally, we present a technique that utilizes GraphDB’s similarity indexes to facilitate the alignment of FIBO with other industry and regulatory vocabularies.
