Meet Graphwise at the MAKEathon 2026
Graphwise is excited to partner with the MAKEathon 2026, taking place October 24–25, 2026, at FHNW Campus Olten in Olten, Switzerland.
The MAKEathon is a two-day workshop that brings ambitious students, engineers, designers, and developers together to tackle real company and societal challenges by building innovative AI prototypes. What sets it apart is its approach: combining the pattern-recognition capabilities of machine learning, including generative AI, with explicit domain knowledge, rules, and relationships. The result is AI that learns from data while respecting domain expertise and real-world constraints. Over two days, teams explore a challenge, shape a solution, build a prototype, and present it.
Our challenge
Graphwise is bringing a hands-on challenge to the MAKEathon, inviting teams to put GraphRAG to the test.
Token Consumption of RAG Systems
In a recent internal benchmark, Graphwise compared GraphRAG with alternative retrieval methods for answering questions over large corpora, with encouraging results on token efficiency, precision, completeness, and auditability. Now it’s your turn to measure it. Teams will benchmark GraphRAG against direct prompt document injection and standard vector-based RAG, using either US public company disclosures or a public health plan dataset. Each approach is tested against 20 competency questions across three complexity tiers: single-fact, nested-fact, and multi-hop queries. Teams will work with a dedicated Graphwise GraphRAG instance, pre-loaded datasets and models in Graphwise GraphDB, and our recently launched GraphRAG Evaluation Framework.
The primary goal is to benchmark token consumption across configurations. If time permits, teams can go further and evaluate accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
Let’s Connect
Joining the MAKEathon 2026? We’d love to work with you on the challenge! Submit the form to the right and we’ll get in touch before the event.
The challenge will be guided remotely by Kent Strocker and Márcia R. Ferreira, who will support teams throughout both days.
