We are excited to announce we have been named as a representative vendor in Gartner’s “Market Overview for AI Context Platforms” subscription-based report by Kjell Carlsson, Afraz Jaffri, Christopher Long, Radu Miclaus, dated 13 August 2026.
Gartner defines AI context platforms as software that enables data and AI engineering teams to construct, govern and deliver semantically organized knowledge to AI agents and other AI applications and services at runtime. They combine semantic models such as taxonomies, ontologies, and knowledge graphs with governed runtime context delivery.
According to the report, the AI context platform market is estimated at $28 billion in 2026 and is projected to reach $78 billion by 2030, a compound annual growth rate of 29.5%. Gartner’s strategic planning assumption states that by 2027, organizations that prioritize semantics in their AI-ready data will increase agentic AI accuracy by up to 80% while reducing costs by up to 60%.
Graphwise is included in the report’s representative vendor list alongside companies such as Amazon Web Services, Databricks, Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Snowflake.
The report identifies protocol-based access (via the Model Context Protocol or equivalent standards), governed semantic model management, entity linking, and grounded, cited response generation as capabilities moving from differentiators to requirements for AI context platforms. These areas sit at the center of Graphwise’s RDF-based semantic backbone architecture.
“Gartner’s market overview of AI context platforms comes at just the right time,” said Andreas Blumauer, Senior Vice President Growth at Graphwise. “Many companies have now realised that the quality of the context layer determines whether, and how well, agentic AI actually works within the organisation. There are significant differences in how the context layer can be structured, and consequently, it may or may not be suitable for certain industries and use cases. Gartner’s overview helps to identify the most suitable suppliers more quickly.”
